Hello and welcome! My name is Tom, I'm a master's student in Geology & Earth science, based in London.

After experimenting for 3 years, I decided to go vegan, and -WOW- this was one of the best decisions of my life! I went from being ill with colds and chest infections almost constantly, to feeling the healthiest I've ever been, with better strength, stamina, and recovery at the gym than ever before (aside from a brief run-in with COVID-19)! Not to mention it also drastically reduced my carbon footprint!

After a few months of being vegan and loving every second experimenting with food and recipes, I decided to make the MealsMadeFromPlants Instagram account - mostly for myself to keep a log of nice meals and recipes I'd tried, but also to possibly help encourage others to try more plant-based meals.

One of the things that put me off going vegan for a long time was always hearing stories of the "friend of a friend's cousin who tried going vegan for a month and ruined their health", so let me tell you straight up - unless you're following an extremely restrictive diet that always gets lumped in with veganism - like 'fruitarian' etc - this will NOT happen to you. My goal with this blog is to show people that a vegan diet can be incredibly healthy, easy, and delicious - with no compromise on taste, and no animal cruelty.

While I do have experience in biochemistry and plant-based nutrition, I am not a medical professional, so while I encourage you to consider the research and facts I post here, please do not ignore any medical advice given to you by your doctor.

Meals Made from Plants is truly my own little passion project, where I aim to post recipes, news, research, and my own opinions. I hope you enjoy and find some inspiration for yourself!
